Joe Mauer has spent his entire career with the Minnesota Twins. So it's only fitting that he'll soon be the father of his own set of twins.

The team confirmed Wednesday that the star catcher and his wife, Maddie, are expecting their first children, as was first reported by the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Of course, it's all too perfect that the couple will have twins.

Mauer, 29, and Maddie Bisanz were married in early December in St. Paul, Mauer's hometown.

Former Twins outfielder Michael Cuddyer's wife, Claudia, had twins after the 2011 season. Cuddyer was a free agent that offseason and chose to sign with the Colorado Rockies that winter. Some were hoping the birth of twins meant Cuddyer was destined to stay in Minnesota.
