Mauer and wife expecting twins

Considering that Joe Mauer is the franchise player for Minnesota's baseball team, I guess it's only fitting that he's going to have a set of twins. The Twins confirmed Wednesday night that Mauer and his wife Maddie are expecting their first children, and it will be a set of twins Mauer and his wife Maddie Bisanz were married in early December in St. Paul, where Mauer grew up. The 29-year-old catcher told the St. Paul Pioneer Press the following: "Obviously we're both really excited and couldn't be happier. Everything so far is good." Mauer signed and eight-year, $184 million extension back in 2010, which mean's he'll be with the Twins through 2018. After the Twins made him the No. 1 overall pick in the 2001 MLB Draft, Mauer has spent his entire nine-year career in Minnesota, including an MVP season in 2009. Mauer is a five-time All-Star, three-time AL batting champion, three-time Gold Glove winner and a four-time Sliver Slugger Award winner.-Last season he hit .319 with 10 home run...
