That is what New York Yankees inherited owner Hal Steinbrenner told the NY Daily News on January 10, 2013.

So should fans presume the Yankees are hot on the trail of Minnesota Twins first baseman Justin Morneau?

One would think with the recent injury upgrade to switch-hitting, first baseman Mark Teixeira that would be the Yankees next step.

If this was last season I would have second-guessed a trade for Morneau because of his concussion issues but that battle seems to be over.

Last season Morneau posted a .267 batting average, hit 19 homers, 77 RBIs, 26 doubles and drew 49 walks. He could slide in perfectly right behind Robinson Cano in the line-up. (more...)
